VOOPOO Drag X3

The VOOPOO Drag X3 is an 80W pod mod built for sub-ohm and high-power vaping, running on a single external 18650 or 21700 battery for extended runtime between swaps. It is the most capable model in the latest Drag S3 and X3 pair, aimed at vapers who want a compact pod device with the power output and coil compatibility more commonly associated with a traditional box mod. A 1.66-inch full-colour touchscreen provides control and real-time vaping data in a larger, more responsive display than most pod mods in its class.

The kit includes the PnP X DTL pod with a 0.15 Ohm coil pre-installed and a 0.3 Ohm coil in the box. The pod uses a side-fill port and top-airflow design. Both the DTL and MTL PnP X pods are compatible with the device, giving you the option to switch vaping styles without needing a different kit. An external battery is required but not included.

80W Output and External Battery Options

The Drag X3 outputs from 5 to 80W using a single external 18650 or 21700 battery. Running a 21700 cell gives you a larger capacity than an 18650 in the same slot, which extends runtime between battery swaps at high wattages. An 18650 adapter is included in the box, so the device works with both cell sizes without needing any additional accessories. Carrying spare batteries lets you continue vaping without waiting for a charge, a meaningful practical advantage over a built-in battery device when running power-hungry sub-ohm coils throughout the day. The battery slot uses a magnetic cover that removes cleanly for fast swaps.

1.66-Inch Touchscreen

The 1.66-inch TFT touchscreen is the standout hardware upgrade over the previous Drag X2. It is larger and more responsive than the standard 0.96-inch screen found on most devices in this category, and displays wattage, coil resistance, battery level, and puff count. The touch interface replaces the need for physical navigation buttons in most menus, making mode switching and settings adjustments straightforward. Two physical adjustment buttons sit below the screen for wattage changes. The screen supports multiple theme options, and the device's overall interaction is designed to feel closer to a smartphone interface than a traditional vape mod.

Capacitive Touch Unlock

The Drag X3 uses a capacitive touch sensor on the fire button: touch it lightly to unlock and fire, and the device re-locks automatically when you release. This prevents the device from firing in a pocket or bag without needing to press buttons to engage and disengage a lock. Three unlock modes are available to suit different preferences: capacitive (default), traditional button-hold unlock, and a maintained unlocked mode that keeps the device ready to fire without auto-locking. The unlock method is selectable through the settings menu.

Three Output Modes

The Drag X3 runs three modes via the GENE TT chip:

• Smart mode: Reads the fitted coil's resistance and sets a recommended starting wattage automatically. The 0.15 Ohm coil defaults to 65W in Smart mode; the 0.3 Ohm coil defaults to 35W. The best starting point for a new coil or for vapers less familiar with wattage adjustment.
• RBA mode: Full manual control from 5 to 80W. Use this to dial in a preferred wattage above or below the Smart mode default, or when running coils or tanks via the 510 adapter.
• ECO mode: Reduces power consumption to extend battery runtime on a single charge or cell, useful for longer periods between swaps at moderate wattages.

PnP X DTL Pod and Coils

The kit comes with the PnP X DTL pod, which holds 2ml of e-liquid in the UK TPD version and fills via a side port with a silicone seal. The top-airflow design keeps e-liquid away from the air inlets, which reduces leak risk regardless of airflow setting. Two PnP X mesh coils are included:

• PnP X 0.15 Ohm: Rated 60 to 80W. Pre-installed in the included pod. Best suited to fully open DTL vaping at higher wattages with high-VG shortfills, producing high vapour volume and a warm, dense draw. Pairs well with a 21700 battery at these output levels.
• PnP X 0.3 Ohm: Rated 25 to 40W. Suited to RDTL vaping with the airflow partially restricted. Produces a flavour-forward vape at a more moderate wattage that is easier on battery life and better for vapers who prefer a tighter draw than the 0.15 Ohm allows. Works well with high-VG and 60/40 shortfills.

Both coils use PnP X mesh construction and are rated for up to 100ml of e-liquid usage before replacement. The Drag X3 is also compatible with the PnP X MTL pod (sold separately), which offers tighter airflow and suits RDL and light MTL vaping styles with lower-resistance PnP X coils such as the 0.6 Ohm and 0.8 Ohm options.

Adjustable Top Airflow

The PnP X DTL pod features stepless top-airflow adjustment via a rotating ring. There are no fixed click positions, so you can set the draw anywhere between fully open and nearly closed. Fully open gives a loose, airy DTL draw best matched to the 0.15 Ohm coil at 70 to 80W. Partially restricting the airflow tightens the draw for a more RDTL style suited to the 0.3 Ohm coil in the 30 to 40W range. Because the airflow vents sit at the top of the pod above the e-liquid level, the draw can be restricted without increasing the risk of leaking.

810 Drip Tip and Build Quality

The Drag X3 includes a removable 810 threaded drip tip, which is compatible with a wide range of aftermarket 810 tips if you want to customise the draw or mouthfeel. The device body is zinc alloy with a leather-textured rear panel and measures 132.7 x 34.2 x 27.8mm. The pod connects magnetically and seats firmly, with minimal wobble in day-to-day use. The battery compartment uses a detachable magnetic cover that splits cleanly from the body for cell swaps, a system that is notably more secure and convenient than the hinged doors found on older external battery devices.

A single 18650 or 21700 battery is required and is not included. An 18650 adapter is included in the box for use with the 21700 slot. The 0.15 Ohm coil is pre-installed in the pod. Prime it by filling with e-liquid and waiting at least five minutes before vaping for the first time. High-VG shortfills are recommended for both included coils.
