The VOOPOO Argus G2 is a slim, lightweight MTL and RDTL pod kit built around a 1000mAh battery and the GENE.AI 2.0 chipset. 1000mAh Built-In Battery

The Argus G2 houses a 1000mAh integrated battery that powers up to 30W of output. At moderate wattages with the 0.7 ohm pod, the battery is capable of lasting two to four days between charges for typical vapers. At higher wattages with the 0.4 ohm pod, expect around one full day of use. The USB-C charging port is located on the side of the device and charges at 5V/2A, which brings the battery back to full in approximately an hour. While the device is charging, the screen displays a battery bar, percentage and estimated time remaining, so you can track progress at a glance.

5-30W Variable Output with Three Power Modes

Output is adjustable between 5W and 30W, and the GENE.AI 2.0 chipset also offers three switchable modes that change how power is applied. Smart Mode automatically matches the output to the resistance of the installed pod, making it the easiest starting point for new vapers or for switching between pods. Super Mode pushes the output to its upper limit for the coil, prioritising vapour production and a warmer draw. Eco Mode reduces the wattage and battery consumption, conserving both e-liquid and charge for longer sessions between fills and top-ups. Press the fire button twice to enter the mode selection menu, and three times to manually adjust the wattage within the chosen power range.

GENE.AI 2.0 Chipset

The GENE.AI 2.0 chipset handles power delivery, pod detection and safety management. It auto-senses the resistance of whichever Argus pod is fitted and configures a safe starting wattage before you vape, reducing the risk of dry hits on a fresh pod. It fires with minimal lag on both button and draw activation. Safety features built into the chipset include an eight-second cut-off, short-circuit protection, overcharge protection, low battery protection and over-current protection.

0.96" TFT Colour Screen and RGB LED Strips

The front panel of the Argus G2 is dominated by a 0.96-inch TFT colour display that shows wattage, battery percentage, coil resistance, puff counter, vape time, current mode and lock or unlock status. The display changes colour scheme depending on which power mode is selected, and animated graphics play on screen when you fire the device in Smart Mode. On either side of the screen are two RGB LED light strips that illuminate during use and can be turned on or off through the five-click menu. The combination of the animated display and LED strips makes the Argus G2 one of the more visually distinctive pod kits at its price point.

Haptic Feedback

A built-in high-frequency vibration motor provides tactile confirmation when you fire the device, switch modes or navigate the menu. This is the haptic feedback function, and it gives the Argus G2 a more responsive, considered feel compared to pod kits that rely only on visual feedback. Haptic feedback can be useful when you are vaping without looking at the screen, as the vibration confirms the device has registered your button press or draw.

Dual Activation and Adjustable Airflow

The Argus G2 can be fired by pressing the fire button on the front of the device or by drawing directly on the mouthpiece, with the auto-draw sensor activating the device immediately on inhalation. A stepless airflow slider on the side of the device allows you to adjust the tightness of each draw between a loose RDTL pull and a tighter MTL feel. Moving the slider upwards reduces airflow, and moving it downwards opens it up. The slider has a firm resistance that keeps it in position during use and is unlikely to shift accidentally in a pocket or bag.

How to Lock, Unlock and Reset the Argus G2

Five quick presses of the fire button turn the device on or off. Once the device is on, pressing five times again opens a secondary menu with the following options: power off, reset the puff counter, lock or unlock the fire button, and turn the LED lights on or off. To select an option, tap the fire button to highlight it and hold the button to confirm. When the fire button is locked, auto-draw still works, so you can continue vaping without unlocking the device. To unlock, press the fire button five times to re-enter the menu and select unlock. To reset the puff counter, enter the same five-click menu and select the puff reset option.

Two 2ml Argus Top Fill Pod Cartridges

The kit comes with a 0.4 ohm Argus Top Fill pod and a 0.7 ohm Argus Top Fill pod. Both hold 2ml of e-liquid in line with UK TPD regulations. The 0.4 ohm pod is best suited to RDTL vaping at 18-30W and works well with high-VG e-liquids. The 0.7 ohm pod covers MTL vaping at 14-18W and suits both 50/50 freebase e-liquids and nicotine salts. Both pods refill via a top-fill port, which means you can add e-liquid without removing the pod from the device. The iCOSM coil design inside these pods integrates a larger-than-average coil that VOOPOO rate for up to 90ml of e-liquid use before performance begins to drop.

Wide Argus Pod Compatibility

In addition to the two Argus Top Fill cartridges supplied, the Argus G2 is compatible with all pods in the Argus series. This includes older 2ml side-fill Argus pods with 0.7 ohm and 1.2 ohm built-in coils, as well as the Argus ITO pod, which accepts VOOPOO's replaceable ITO coils. The ITO coil option allows you to change the coil independently rather than replacing the entire pod, which can reduce running costs. Compatible ITO coil resistances cover 0.6 ohm to 1.2 ohm, broadening the choice of draw style well beyond the two pods included in the kit. If you already use Argus pods in another device, those same pods will work in the Argus G2.

USB-C Fast Charging and Lanyard

Charging is via the USB-C port on the side of the device at 5V/2A. A USB-C cable is included in the box, along with a high-quality lanyard that attaches to a loop at the base of the device. The lanyard makes the Argus G2 practical to carry hands-free and reduces the chance of dropping the device. The lanyard is one of the better quality examples included with a pod kit at this price - thick, woven and comfortable around the neck.
