A physical A-Lock side switch sits flush with the frame and locks all buttons with a single slide, preventing accidental firing in a pocket or bag. 5–200W Output with AS Chip 4.0 and 0.01s Firing Speed

The AS Chip 4.0 uses buck-boost technology to maintain consistent wattage output across the full power range, including as the batteries drain. The firing speed of 0.01 seconds means there is no noticeable delay between pressing the button and the coil heating. Output current peaks at 45A with a maximum output voltage of 12V, so the mod can drive low-resistance coils hard without dropping off. The resistance range runs from 0.1 to 2.0 ohms, covering all standard sub-ohm DTL setups.

IP68 Tri-Proof: Waterproof, Dustproof, and Shockproof

IP68 is the highest available protection rating for a consumer vape mod, meaning the device is fully sealed against dust and water-resistant to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. The C-frame metal construction, rubber-coated battery door, and sealed USB-C port all contribute to the Tri-Proof build. The rubberised base absorbs impact from drops and helps the mod sit steadily on flat surfaces. The Aegis Legend line has built its reputation on this level of durability, and the Legend 5 maintains that standard.

1.08" TFT Colour Display

The 1.08-inch screen is the largest GeekVape has fitted to an Aegis Legend mod, up from the 0.96-inch display on the Legend 3. It shows wattage, coil resistance, battery level, current mode, and puff count without the need to cycle through menus. Dynamic lighting feedback from both the screen and the mod frame responds to your vaping. Brightness is adjustable in the settings menu.

Five Output Modes: ECO, Smart, Normal, Custom, TC

Normal Mode is straightforward wattage control, letting you set a fixed output manually. Smart Mode reads the installed coil's resistance and automatically selects an appropriate wattage range, which is useful if you prefer not to adjust settings yourself. Custom Mode gives you full control over your output settings for a tailored setup. ECO Mode reduces power output to extend battery life when you need it to last longer. TC Mode supports temperature control for stainless steel, nickel, and titanium coils via TCR, regulating heat output to reduce dry hits and extend coil life. Note that the mesh Z Coils supplied in the box are designed for wattage modes only; TC is for use with compatible stainless steel, nickel, or titanium coils purchased separately.

Physical A-Lock Side Switch

The A-Lock is a physical sliding switch on the left side of the mod that locks all buttons in one movement. Slide it down to lock, slide it back up to fire. It replaces the electronic Smart Lock palm recognition system from the Aegis Legend 3 with a simpler, more reliable mechanical solution that works regardless of gloves, temperature, or hand placement. The switch blends into the C-frame design so it does not protrude and does not catch on pockets or cases. It is one of the most practical safety features on a dual-battery mod.

Dual External 18650 Batteries

The Aegis Legend 5 requires two 18650 batteries, which are sold separately. External batteries mean you can carry charged spares and swap them out rather than waiting for the mod to charge, which is a significant advantage for all-day use at higher wattages. Batteries must have flat tops on both ends to allow the spring-loaded battery door to close. High-drain cells such as Sony VTC5A or Samsung 30Q are recommended for best performance at the upper end of the power range.

Type-C Charging

The USB-C port sits on top of the mod behind a rubber cover that forms part of the IP68 seal. Any standard USB-C cable is compatible. For best results and balanced cell charging, an external 18650 battery charger is recommended when you have the option. The Type-C port is a practical upgrade from the micro-USB connections found on older mods in this class.

GeekVape Z Sub-Ohm Tank (2ml TPD)

The Z Sub-Ohm Tank included in the kit uses top airflow to reduce the chance of leaking during use and transport. It holds 2ml of e-liquid in UK TPD configuration. The top-fill design lets you refill without removing the tank from the mod. It accepts GeekVape Z Series mesh coils, with the Z0.15 XM pre-installed and a Z0.4 XM coil supplied as a spare. High-VG e-liquid of 70VG/30PG or higher is recommended for best results with these coils.

Z0.15 XM and Z0.4 XM Mesh Coils

• Z0.15 XM (0.15Ω, 70–85W) - pre-installed. A warm, cloud-heavy DTL vape. Best run with the airflow fully open. Well suited to high-wattage sessions and 70VG+ e-liquids.
• Z0.4 XM (0.4Ω, 50–60W) - supplied as a spare. A slightly cooler, more flavour-focused vape at a lower wattage. A good starting point if you are working your way up from lower-powered setups.

Both are mesh coils, which distribute heat more evenly than traditional wire coils for more consistent vapour and longer coil life. Z Series replacements are widely available.

510 Threaded Connection

The spring-loaded 510 connector accepts any standard 510-threaded tank up to 29mm in diameter, so you are not restricted to the included Z Sub-Ohm Tank. If you already have a preferred tank, it will fit and work normally on the Legend 5. The spring-loaded pin accommodates different connector pin depths for a secure fit across a wide range of atomisers.
