Battery and Charging

The Pixo runs off a 1100mAh built-in battery. At moderate wattage using the MTL 1.0Ω pod, most vapers will get a full day out of a charge. Run it harder with the 0.4Ω pod at higher wattages and battery life will be shorter, but the 2A fast charge via USB-C means you can get back to full in around 35 to 40 minutes, which is genuinely quick for a device in this class. The charging port is on the bottom of the device. The screen displays a battery indicator so you know where you are without having to guess.

Touchscreen and Modes

The 1.47-inch TFT colour touchscreen is the central feature of the Pixo and the thing that sets it apart from most other pod kits at this price point. The display shows your current wattage, the recommended wattage range for your installed pod, battery level and coil resistance. Swipe down twice to bring up the wattage adjustment screen. Three quick presses of the fire button opens the full settings menu, where you can switch between SMART mode and WATT mode, choose between auto draw, button fire or both, pick from three display themes and enable or disable vaping animations. SMART mode reads the resistance of whichever pod is installed and sets an appropriate wattage range automatically. If you want to adjust within that range yourself, switch to WATT mode. For most vapers who are not especially interested in fine-tuning their output, SMART mode gives a good result from the start.

Airflow and Draw Style

There is a three-hole airflow slider on the side of the device. With all three holes open you get a fairly open RDTL draw, and sliding it up to restrict the airflow progressively tightens the draw down to a true MTL pull with just one hole open. The airflow works alongside the pod resistance to shape your vaping experience: the 0.4Ω pod with the airflow fully open gives the most open draw the device can produce, while the 1.0Ω pod with airflow restricted gives the tightest MTL. You can mix and match based on personal preference. A side note on handling: the rounded base of the Pixo means it cannot stand upright on its own – it will need to lie flat when not in use.

Pixo Pods

The Pixo uses its own device-specific replacement pods with a built-in mesh coil. There is no separate coil to change – when the coil is spent, you swap the whole pod. Pods connect magnetically and fill from the side via a silicone stopper. Three resistance options are available separately, and the kit includes one 0.4Ω pod and one 1.0Ω pod so you can try both styles straight away. Replacement pods are sold in packs of two. With a new pod, fill it and give it five to ten minutes to soak before your first draw.

• 0.4Ω mesh pod, 23-30W. The most open draw in the range. Suits RDTL and DTL vaping with a higher-VG or shortfill e-liquid. Produces the most vapour at higher wattages. A nicotine strength of 6mg or below is the sensible choice at this output level.
• 0.6Ω mesh pod, 16-23W. The middle-ground RDTL option. Runs cooler than the 0.4Ω and is a bit more e-liquid efficient. A 50/50 freebase or nicotine salt works well here. Good all-day option for vapers who want a balance of flavour and vapour without pushing the wattage too high.
• 1.0Ω mesh pod, 10-15W. The tightest draw and the MTL option. Suits 50/50 freebase and nicotine salts up to 20mg. This is the pod that makes the Pixo work well as a cigarette replacement kit. Also ships in the box alongside the 0.4Ω pod.

E-Liquid Guide

The right e-liquid depends on which pod you are using. For the 1.0Ω MTL pod, a 50/50 freebase or nicotine salt e-liquid is ideal. Nicotine salts work particularly well here and you can go up to 20mg comfortably at the low wattage this pod runs at. For the 0.6Ω RDTL pod, a 50/50 freebase or nic salt at 10-20mg is the right match. For the 0.4Ω pod, a higher-VG e-liquid works best – a 60-70% VG blend or a shortfill – and nicotine strength of 6mg or below is the sensible choice given the higher output and vapour volume.
