Your Weekly Vape Reset: Clean, Refill, Recharge

Your Weekly Vape Reset: Clean, Refill, Recharge

Matthew Abercrombie |

The small routine that keeps your kit fresh — and your flavour spot on

Let’s be honest — most of us don’t clean our vape gear as often as we should.

You refill, recharge, and carry on puffing… until suddenly your flavour's muted, your pod’s gurgling, or your battery isn’t lasting like it used to.

That’s where the weekly vape reset comes in. It’s a simple 10-minute habit that can:

  • Extend the life of your coils and pods
  • Keep your flavour crisp and clean
  • Prevent leaks and weird residue
  • Make vaping feel like a treat, not a chore

And bonus — it gives you a chance to check in with your setup and make sure it’s still working for you. Think of it as your Sunday ritual, like charging your toothbrush or meal prepping your snacks. Your vape deserves that same TLC.

🧼 Step 1: Clean Your Device (Properly This Time)

Even if you’re using a pod kit, you’d be surprised how much grime builds up — pocket fluff, juice residue, condensation… the works.

Here’s what to do:

  • Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth or tissue
  • Clean the pod connection points with a cotton bud
  • Check for juice build-up around the mouthpiece or air holes
  • If your device has airflow adjustment, give it a little clean too

Top tip: A quick cotton bud swirl inside the pod housing can stop those annoying “no connection” errors you get mid-vape.

🔁 Step 2: Refresh Your Pod or Coil

Pods and coils don’t last forever. A quick check can save you from that dreaded burnt taste halfway through the week.

Signs it’s time to change:

  • Flavour is muted or “off”
  • Vapour production is low
  • You're getting a burnt or dry hit
  • Your juice is starting to darken quickly in the pod

If you’re unsure, just replace it. Coils are cheaper than ruined juice (and better than risking a burnt hit that puts you off your favourite flavour).

💧 Step 3: Refill & Reassess Your E-Liquid

Now’s a great time to top up your juice and have a little flavour rethink.

Ask yourself:

  • Still loving this flavour?
  • Need to switch from 20mg to 10mg?
  • Is it time to try something new?

One of our regulars uses Sunday evenings to prep a new bottle for the week and swap between fruity and dessert flavours to keep things interesting.

Try storing a few of your top flavours in your reset box so you always have variety on hand — no last-minute panics when your juice runs dry.

🔋 Step 4: Charge It Fully (And Safely)

A good weekly recharge helps extend the life of your battery and keeps you from getting caught short mid-day.

  • Use the original USB-C cable where possible
  • Don’t leave it charging overnight
  • Make sure the charging port is free of fluff and gunk
  • Store your vape somewhere cool and dry — not on a sunny windowsill

If your device charges in 30 minutes, make it part of your Sunday wind-down — charge it while you’re making your brew or watching a bit of telly.

🛠 Optional Extras: Build Your Vape Reset Kit

Want to make your reset ritual even smoother? Keep a little “vape box” on hand with:

  • Spare pods or coils
  • Cotton buds
  • Microfibre cloth
  • Nic salts or shortfills
  • A mini bin or bag for used coils (we always recycle ours properly)

Having everything in one place makes it easier to keep up with — and makes vaping feel less like a hassle, more like self-care.

Your vape is part of your daily routine — so it makes sense to show it a bit of love once a week. A clean, charged, and flavour-fresh device makes all the difference.

And if you need advice on which coils work best with your kit, how often to change them, or want to try a new nic salt for your Sunday refill, you know where we are. Pop in — we’re always happy to chat.
