Aspire Nautilus BVC Coils 5 Pack

Aspire Nautilus replacement coils are sold in packs of 5 and cover the full Nautilus tank range from the original Nautilus through to the Nautilus 2, Nautilus 2S, Nautilus 3, Nautilus GT, Nautilus Mini, and Nautilus Nano. The range includes both BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil) and mesh variants, covering everything from a tight MTL draw at 1.8Ω right through to an open RDTL vape at 0.3Ω.

The BVC design orients the coil vertically within the atomiser head, which improves wicking consistency and produces clean, stable flavour throughout the life of the coil. Choosing the right resistance determines both your draw style and your e-liquid options, so the sections below cover each variant in full.

MTL Coils

The MTL coil options give a tight, cigarette-like draw with low vapour production. These are the coils used by most Nautilus vapers and are the best choice if you are switching from cigarettes or want a discreet, low-output vape.

• 1.8Ω BVC: 10-14W, classic Nautilus coil for tight MTL vaping, use with nic salts and high-PG e-liquids
• 1.8Ω NS AIO: 10-12W, nic-salt optimised version for the Nautilus AIO only; not compatible with other Nautilus tanks
• 1.6Ω BVC: 7-11W, the original Nautilus coil, suits high-PG and 50/50 e-liquids, compatible with all Nautilus tanks including the original
• 1.0Ω Mesh: 13-15W, newer mesh option for a slightly warmer MTL draw with improved flavour from the mesh construction
• 0.7Ω BVC: 18-23W, MTL draw at higher wattage, suits 50/50 e-liquids; not recommended for the original Nautilus or Nautilus Mini due to airflow restrictions
• 0.7Ω Mesh: 20-25W, mesh version of the 0.7Ω option for improved flavour at MTL; same compatibility restrictions as 0.7Ω BVC

RDTL Coils

The lower-resistance RDTL coils suit vapers who prefer a more open draw and greater vapour production while keeping the inhale restricted compared to a full sub-ohm setup. These coils require a device capable of firing at higher wattages and perform best with 50/50 or higher-VG e-liquids. They are not recommended for use in the original Nautilus or Nautilus Mini, as those tanks do not have sufficient airflow to fire them correctly.

• 0.4Ω BVC: 23-28W, RDTL draw, use with 50/50 or higher-VG e-liquids; Nautilus 2 and above only
• 0.3Ω Mesh: 23-28W, most open draw in the range, mesh construction, use with higher-VG e-liquids; Nautilus 2 and above only

Device Compatibility

All Nautilus BVC and mesh coils fit the same coil seat, so the physical coil is the same size across all variants. However, not every coil suits every device due to differences in airflow and wattage output across the Nautilus tank generations.

• Original Nautilus, Nautilus Mini: MTL coils only (1.6Ω, 1.8Ω, 1.0Ω mesh); the 0.4Ω and 0.7Ω variants are not recommended due to airflow restrictions in these older tanks
• Nautilus AIO: 1.8Ω BVC and 1.8Ω NS AIO only; other variants are not compatible
• Aspire Zelos 3, Zelos M80: all coil variants compatible
• Aspire K3 tank: all coil variants compatible
• Aspire Triton Mini: all coil variants compatible
• Aspire Plato kit: compatible using the adaptor originally supplied with the kit

E-Liquid and Priming

Coil resistance determines both draw style and the e-liquid types that work well. At 1.0Ω and above, nic salts, high-PG, and 50/50 e-liquids are the right choice; high-VG shortfills are too thick for the wick to handle efficiently at these resistances. At 0.7Ω and below, 50/50 and higher-VG blends are better suited, and higher-VG shortfills with a nic shot work well with the 0.3Ω and 0.4Ω coils. When fitting a new coil, prime it by dripping a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton at the top of the coil, fill the tank, and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes before vaping. This saturates the wick and prevents a dry, burnt taste on the first few draws.
