Aspire AF Vape Tank

The Aspire AF Tank is a 2ml, 510-connection sub-ohm tank designed for RDTL and MTL vaping, with support for DTL on the 0.4Ω coil. It uses the Aspire AF coil series, also referred to as Flexus AF coils, which are the same coils used across the Flexus range of pod kits. The tank is built from stainless steel and glass and connects to any 510-threaded mod. It comes with a 0.4Ω and a 0.6Ω AF coil included and is available in Black, Silver, and Blue. It is the included tank in the Aspire Rover Plus kit.

Top Fill and Airflow

The AF Tank fills from the top via a sliding cap that pushes open to reveal the fill port. You can top up without removing the tank from your mod, which makes everyday refilling quick and clean. The airflow ring rotates around the base of the tank and can be adjusted from fully open down to a tight draw, covering DTL, RDTL, and MTL styles depending on which coil you have fitted. The airflow inlets sit at the top of the ring to help reduce the chance of leaks when the tank is in a bag or pocket.

Aspire AF Coils

The AF Tank uses Aspire AF mesh coils, available in three resistances. The 0.4Ω coil is rated for 20-28W and is suited to a warm, open DTL or loose RDTL draw with 70%+ VG shortfill e-liquids. The 0.6Ω coil runs at 15-18W and gives a restricted direct-to-lung vape that works well with 50/50 e-liquids or low-strength nic salts. The 1.0Ω coil is rated for 12-15W and provides a tighter MTL draw suited to nic salts and 50/50 freebase e-liquids. All three use mesh construction and press-fit into the base of the tank. The AF coils are the same ones used in the Flexus Q, Flexus Stik, Flexus Blok, Flexus AIO, and Raga AIO pod kits, so they are widely available and sold separately in packs of five.

Build and Connections

The tank is built from stainless steel with a pyrex glass section and measures 28.5mm in diameter, which fits comfortably on most single-battery and dual-battery mods. The 510 threaded connection is standard across all vape mods, so the AF Tank is not tied to any specific device. The drip tip is a standard 510 fitting and can be swapped out for any compatible 510 mouthpiece. A replacement glass is also available separately if the original gets cracked.

Real-World Performance

The AF Tank has a strong reputation for flavour output, which stems from the quality of the AF mesh coil design rather than the tank itself. The 0.6Ω coil at 15-18W is the most commonly recommended variant for everyday use, giving a warm, flavour-forward RDTL draw without needing high wattages. The 1.0Ω coil at 12-15W suits vapers who want a tighter, more discreet MTL draw and are using nic salts rather than shortfills. Coil life is typically one to two weeks depending on e-liquid sweetener content. Priming a new coil with a few drops of e-liquid and leaving it for five to ten minutes before firing helps to avoid dry hits and extends coil life.

Aspire AF Tank Colours

The Aspire AF Tank is available in three colours: Black, Silver, and Blue. The Black version is the most widely stocked and is a plain matte black finish with no external markings. All three colours share the same stainless steel and glass construction.
